Pancakes & Bonspiels

This is the last week to register your teams for the Curling Bonspiel. The event is taking place next weekend so register asap. As well, there will be pancakes for sale in ETLC this week, so come check it out.

1. Pancakes!

The Computer Engineering Club will be selling pancakes in the ETLC Atrium on Tuesday, November 4. Come and get some delicious pancakes - you'll regret it if you don't.

2. Curling Bonspiel

The Computer Engineering Club Curling Bonspiel will be taking place on November 15th, at the Granite Curling Club. Entry fee is $30/person, with teams of 4 – this includes dinner, equipment rentals, a free tutorial for beginners, and lots of prizes including trophies for the top teams!
Registration closes Friday, Nov 7th, so sign up right away.

3. Extra-Life Results

Thank you to everyone who participated and donated to Extra-Life last weekend. Over the 24h, around 50 people participated, raising over $4,700. All the donations will be going to the Stollery Childrens Hospital.

4. Microsoft Scholarship Opportunity

Microsoft's undergraduate scholarship program is an amazing opportunity for undergrad students pursuing degrees in computer science and related technical disciplines. By applying to the Microsoft Scholarship Program, you may be eligibile for full or partial tuition for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Student Eligibility Criteria:

  • Currently enrolled full-time in a bachelors degree
  • Pursuing a degree in CS, CE or STEM related technical discipline
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 / 4.0 or higher

5. Facebook Tech Talk

Facebook will be giving a tech talk on November 13th at 5pm. All engineering students, 2015 graduates, and alumni are welcome to attend. This session is organized by the Engineering Employment Centre. You can RSVP through the EEC page .

6. Soldering Workshop

In the last week of November the Computer Engineering Club will be hosting a Soldering workshop held at the Edmonton New Technology Society. You will get to choose from 4 kits, a Binary Blaster Kit , Big Time Watch Kit , Larson Scanner Kit or a Light up Rocket. There will be a sign up sheet in
