CompE Club Weekly
The new semester is upon us. This semester is bringing about a whole host of changes and we hope and encourage you to keep a positive mindset through it all.
With the remote delivery, communication and comunity is more important than ever. With this in mind, we encourage you to follow CompE socials as well as join both the ECE and CompE Discord. While a remote semester might feel a little lonier, there is still plenty to do. Just look at all the events below!

1) ESS Mentorship/Mentor Program
WHO: Anyone who would would like to mentor or to be a mentor for engineering
WHEN: Mentee sign up deadline: September 7th

WHAT: Looking to stay in touch, get guidance, and to further connect with
our business and alumni this spring? This is your time to grow your network and to get further insight as you prepare for the upcoming recruitment season!
The service is open on a first come, first serve basis. Please fill out the form listed above, and incluce a copy of your resume. Do not select more than one timeslot, so others will have a chance to connect. Prepare any questions prior to the call to ensure everything runs smoothly.
2) Deloitte 101 - Campus Recruitment
WHO: Anyone interested in an internship or position at Deloitte
WHEN: Thursday, September 7th 2020 @ 3:30PM - 5:00PM
WHERE: Sign up here
WHAT: Deloitte is hosting a virtual session to present their company. The session will discuss the work culture of Deloitte, and the various opportunities offered by the company. Spots are limited, please include your email in the sign up, otherwise an invite cannot be sent. To learn more, check out the Deloite recuritment page
3) ComIT .NET Core Course
WHO: Anyone interested in furthering their programming skillset
WHERE: The ComIT website
WHAT: ComIT is offering courses to students looking to take charge of their education. The programs offer 3-month part time courses for people looking to pursue a career in IT. The expected workload is about 8 hours per week, and will teach coding in various languages such as Java, React, .Net among others. It will also involve the often neglected soft skills. Students who graduate will recieve assistance in the job search. The course if covered by a scholarship, and will be offered free of charge. 4) Intuit Virtual Info Session
WHO: Anyone seeking a 2021 Co-op, or interested in a career in Intuit
WHEN: September 15th @ 4PM
WHERE: Sign up here
WHAT: Intuit is hosting a virtual info session to show what a career at Intuit looks like. The meeting will also demonstrate how to set yourself up for success, covering resume prep, networking skills, and interview skills. Inuit is currently seeking Winter 2021 Co-op roles in Software Development, Tax and UX Design. 5) NeuroNexus Design Competition
WHO: Anyone interested hackathons and neuroscience

WHAT: Neuro Nexus is a hackathon program designed to spark collaboration across disciplines and tackle
complex challenges in brain science and mental health. The program connects experts in frontline,
clinical, and academic practice with motivated, talented students to develop technological solutions
over a fast-paced 6 week competition. This year, Neuro Nexus will facilitate 40+ projects across the
province in their largest competition yet.
